#00T Tanzania
Origin - Tanzania
Producer - Vera Stücker of Glenmalure Farm
Varietal - Kent PB
Process - Fully washed
Tasting notes - juicy berries, cola and tobacco - deep in flavour
We are incredibly pleased to see the return of Vera’s beautiful speciality coffee grown on her Glenmalure Farm near the Ngila Estate in Northern Tanzania. Sitting on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater the farm has grown coffee for around 100 years at an altitude of 1600 - 1650 masl. Here we see traditional varietals like Kent PB as well as Bourbons and SL28 and further experimentation with new ones such as Batian, Gesha and Pacamara.
The coffee is grown in the shade of native trees, and the farm protects 80 hectares of ancient rainforest beside the plantation. This forest is connected to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and to the Serengeti plains.
This is a traditional fully washed coffee made with a water-saving Colombian eco-pulper, using just 1 litre of water to process 1 ton of cherries. The coffee is then placed on traditional raised drying beds in the sun.

Please note ~ the Kent PB as a pea berry is very small and very hard. A good grinder is essential if buying beans. Occasionally customers with Sage grinders have experienced some difficulties.
