Jaqueline Kelly is a member of the Cafeina group, her farm is called Fazenda Cochos.

Jaqueline Kelly Lopes with her husband Doni owns a small farm in the region of Ilicínea, Southern Minas Gerais. 8 years ago Jaqueline and her husband Doni planted their coffee crops in part of the area. At that time Jaqueline worked in a textile industry in the city and her husband took care of everything.

As they harvested and sold the coffees, they were able to plant more areas of coffee.

They only had one daughter at that time but deciding to have another child, Jaqueline chose to leave her job working directly in the industry, in place raising her young family whilst researching more about coffee cultivation. Respect!

As part of the Cocatrel Cooperative in Tres Pontas, Sul De Minas there is a group that was started for the female farmers who are part of the Cooperative. The Cafeina Group is made up of 21 % of the members of the Cocatrel Cooperative equating to 1154 women producers. The idea was to encourage the engagement of these female producers in the decision making process of the Cooperative.

The Cocatrel Cooperative was founded in 1961 in Tres Pontas and has now grown to the second largest Cooperative in Brazil. There are over 6000 members who are part of the cooperative and they have 11 different buying points across the region. All the coffees are electronically tagged and recorded on delivery with a unique QR code giving full traceability on all the coffees for the growers to know exactly where their coffee is. Over 50% of the members of the cooperative grow coffee on land that is less than 10 Ha in size.
